Spread the love

Joaquin Antonio Consuelos is the youngest son of media personality Kelly Ripa and actor Mark Consuelos. Being born with a silver spoon, there aren’t many things Joaquin has not experienced. Regardless, his parents have taught him well and he remains grounded.

The star kid is about to enter his 20s. Seems like yesterday when Ripa used to carry him around and now he has outgrown her. Aside from himself, there are two other members of the Consuelos brood.

On that note, let’s find out some interesting facts about Joaquin including his education, acting career, and some other stuff!

Joaquin Antonio Consuelos comes from a mixed ethnic heritage

Born on February 24th, 2003, in Los Angeles, Joaquin is the second son between long-term couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. His name is somehow inspired by his dad’s Mexican heritage. The name Joaquin is the Spanish version of the name Joachim which means ‘God has established.’

Talking about ethnicity, Joaquin has a mixed heritage. From his father’s side, he is a Mexican and Italian while from his mom’s side he is Irish. Safe to say, he got to enjoy all the culture at once while growing up.

Joaquin’s parents raised him primarily in Manhattan, New York City. His father is an Italian, mom is also three-quarter Italian and he lives in New York. Maybe he has that old New York accent. Pun intended!

How many siblings does he have?

He has two older siblings, one brother Michael Joseph Consuelos (born June 2nd, 1997), and Lola Grace (born June 16, 2001). The oldest one, Michael graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. On the other hand, Lola studies at the New York University.

Kelly is proud he graduated high school despite suffering from Dyslexia

Its been often said, you can achieve anything if you can set your mind towards it. The early days of Joaquin’s school weren’t exactly pleasing. He suffered from severe dyslexia and dysgraphia and his parents didn’t think he’d be able to do great in school.

But against all odds and with the support from his school and parents, Joaquin graduated high school and that too with great grades. On one of the episodes of ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan,’ back in February 2021, Ripa mentioned that her husband Mark choked up when they discussed their youngest’s college selection process.

She said,

“Mark got very emotional and very choked up because he said, ‘You know I never thought he would be able to go to college because he was profoundly dyslexic and dysgraphic.'”

He graduated from middle school in 2017 and high school in 2020.

Joaquin Antonio Consuelos is a University of Michigan student

The year 2021 brought forth great news for the Conseulas family. In March 2021, the University of Michigan announced that Joaquin will be joining their program. The UNI wrote in the Instagram post, “SIGNED: Welcome to the family, @joaquinconsuelos! #NewBlue #GoBlue.”

Kelly Ripa son Joaquin
Joaquin is a college-level wrestler.

His father Mark, who was over the moon after hearing the news, commented on the post with a wrestling-type emoji. Moreover, Joaquin himself commented, “Super excited to step into this next chapter with @umichwrestling! Honored to be part of this great program.”

Well, this certainly was terrific news considering the fact that Joaquin suffered from Dyslexia his entire life.

Joaquin’s wrestling career has several interesting incidents

We’ve all seen how the majority of star kids tend to follow their parents’ profession. After all, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Nevertheless, there are many exceptions who have carved a different career for themselves.

Likewise, judging by Kelly’s son’s current course of action, he might be more interested in wrestling as opposed to acting. Since high school, he has been participating in several wrestling tournaments and he has even won several matches as well.

Back in 2020, during one of these matches, he broke his nose. Although he won the match, his nose was all busted. Kelly took to her Instagram account to reveal the news. She shared multiple pictures showing behind the scenes of the match and wrote, “You win some, you lose some, and sometimes you get a tampon shoved up your nose.”

As a mom, she was definitely worried but her playful banter can’t be contained.

In addition to this, there was another incident that caused quite the stir. In December 2019, during one of Joaquin’s bouts, his father got furious and tried to confront his opponent. His opponent had apparently ripped off his headgear which riled up Mark up quite a bit.

Mark started walking towards the opponent and said a few words to him until a spectator intervened and pulled him away. As this event unfolded, Kelly, who was also at the match, remained calm.

Does Joaquin Antonio Consuelos have a girlfriend?

We know you’re all interested to know if Kelly’s son is dating someone or not. Going by his Instagram account, he doesn’t seem to be dating anybody. His Instagram account, which boasts more than 90k followers, has only a handful of photos of his day-to-day life.

As of now, he is not in a relationship and living a single life. Given that his mother Kelly is fairly open to her fans about her family if Joaquin ever has a partner she’ll definitely tell us.

Joaquin lives a fairly lavish life thanks to his parents

Having successful parents really does make your life pretty easy, at least on the surface. Similarly, all three of Kelly and Mark’s children don’t have to worry about any monetary stuff. After all their parents are millionaires with a combined net worth of over $100 million.

Regardless, the duo has tried their best to keep their kids from turning into spoiled brats. All three of them have done exceptionally well in their academics. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that they will also do great in their future careers as well.
