What Is Bill Belichick’s Wife Debby Clarke Doing Now?
After her divorce from Bill Belichick, Clarke chose a life away from the spotlight, focusing on her passion for design and business. A Wesleyan University graduate, she co-founded The Art of Tile & Stone in Wellesley, Massachusetts, alongside a female business partner.
The company specializes in high-end tile design and installation, catering to homeowners and designers looking for quality craftsmanship.
Inside Bill Belichick and Debby Clarke’s Marriage & Divorce
Long before Belichick became an NFL coaching legend, he was married to his childhood sweetheart, Debby Clarke. The two tied the knot in 1977, just as Belichick’s coaching career was beginning to take off.
For nearly three decades, Debby stood by his side as he built one of the most successful dynasties in football. But by 2006, their marriage had quietly come to an end. While neither publicly addressed the reason for their split, speculation ran wild, with rumors linking Belichick to Sharon Shenocca, a former receptionist with the New York Giants.
Shenocca, however, denied any romantic involvement. In 2006, a friend of hers told the Boston Herald, “From day one, it was always friendship. He’s strictly a friend, and nothing more.”
Regardless of the rumors, Belichick moved on with Linda Holliday after the divorce, while Debby chose a private life away from the media glare.
Bill Belichick’s Children: Where Are They Now?
Belichick and Debby Clarke Belichick share three children, all of whom have carved out successful careers—many in the sports world.
Amanda Belichick – The Coach Who Took a Different Path
Born in 1984, Amanda is their eldest child and only daughter. She attended Wesleyan University, where she played lacrosse and graduated in 2007 with a degree in history.
Despite coming from a football dynasty, Amanda once told Sports Illustrated that following in her father’s footsteps “was never the intention.” However, she found her own way into coaching and has been the head coach of the Holy Cross women’s lacrosse team since 2015.
Stephen Belichick – From Walk-On to Defensive Coordinator
The second-born, Stephen “Steve” Belichick, has also built a strong coaching career in football.
A former Rutgers University athlete, he walked onto the football team while also playing lacrosse in college. His coaching career began in 2012 with the New England Patriots, where he worked as a coaching assistant before taking over as safeties coach in 2016.
By 2020, he was coaching the outside linebackers and remained with the Patriots until 2024, when he left to take on a new challenge as defensive coordinator for the Washington Huskies.
Brian Belichick – Staying with the Patriots
The youngest of the three, Brian Belichick, followed a similar trajectory. A Trinity College graduate, he played lacrosse before entering the football world. His career with the Patriots started in 2016 as a scouting assistant, and within a year, he transitioned into coaching alongside his brother.
In 2020, he was promoted to safeties coach, a role he still holds under the Patriots’ new head coach, Jerod Mayo, for the 2024 season.
