Ron DeSantis, a leader who has stirred up the political arena, made waves again in January 2024 by stepping out of the presidential race to back Donald Trump. But while his career keeps making headlines, it’s his personal life with his wife of years Casey DeSantis that reads like a page-turner, filled with twists, quirks, and a touch of destiny.

Their first meeting in 2006 wasn’t the fairy-tale setting you’d expect. Picture a golf course at the University of North Florida. Casey, then a news anchor for Jacksonville’s WJXT Channel 4, wasn’t there to meet anyone special.

She was laser-focused on snagging a bucket of abandoned golf balls to salvage her practice session. “I kept looking over my shoulder for the balls because my swing was a disaster,” Casey once said. Enter Ron, who assumed her glances were all about him. One awkward misunderstanding later, they struck up a conversation—and an unlikely spark ignited.

Fast forward to 2007, and the timing couldn’t have been trickier. DeSantis was deployed to Iraq as a lawyer for the SEAL Team, leaving Casey to juggle her rising career in the news. Long-distance relationships are no picnic, let alone when one person is overseas in a war zone. Yet, against all odds, they stayed close. Between letters and the rare phone call, their bond only grew stronger.

The Two Wed in 2009

On September 26, 2009, Ron and his wife Casey sealed their love with a fairy-tale wedding at the Walt Disney World Resort. According to insider reports, the couple said their vows at the elegant Grand Floridian wedding pavilion. With views of Cinderella Castle and the serene Seven Seas Lagoon, the setting was nothing short of magical.

For the reception, the couple paid homage to their Italian roots by celebrating at Epcot’s Italy Isola. The picturesque location perfectly complemented the day, blending family traditions with a touch of Disney charm.

Ron and Casey Are Proud Parents of Three Kids

Ron and Casey DeSantis are not just political powerhouses—they’re also hands-on parents to three adorable children. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Madison in November 2016. Sharing the joyous news on Facebook, Ron wrote, “Casey and I are so happy to welcome our daughter Madison, who was born 7 lbs, 7 ounces and very healthy. Mom and baby are doing great. What a blessing!”

In March 2018, their family grew with the arrival of their son, Mason Joseph DeSantis. Ron announced his birth with pride, tweeting, “Casey and I are blessed to welcome our son Mason Joseph DeSantis. 8lbs, 4oz and very strong! Both baby and mom are doing great.”

By March 2020, the DeSantis family added another little one to the mix: their third child, a daughter named Mamie.

While the couple has kept much of their children’s lives out of the spotlight, their kids have occasionally appeared alongside their parents during public events. From campaign stages to Instagram glimpses, Madison, Mason, and Mamie are a reminder of the family-first foundation.

Ron DeSantis’ Wife Casey Is a Cancer Survivor

In October 2021, Ron shared heartbreaking news: Casey, the mother of their three children and Florida’s First Lady, had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

In a heartfelt statement, the political leader described her as the “centerpiece” of their family, a woman whose strength and dedication had touched countless lives across Florida. “As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up.”

By March 2022, the story took a hopeful turn when Ron announced that his wife was in remission.

Now cancer-free, Casey continues to play a vital role in their family life and public duties. Together with their three children, the couple resides in Palm Coast, north of Daytona Beach.
