He Is Now Dating Tracey Collins
Eric has been in a committed relationship with his partner Tracey Collins for years. While their romance has sparked speculation about marriage, they remain longtime partners, not spouses.
Collins, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, is a former school principal and currently works for the New York City Department of Education. Despite dating one of the city’s most high-profile politicians, Collins has largely stayed out of the public eye.
One of the rare glimpses into their relationship came in 2009 when Collins wrote the foreword for Adams’ book Don’t Let It Happen, which focuses on protecting children from potential dangers. The cover alone made headlines, featuring a handgun inside a pink lunchbox—a stark visual warning about the realities kids may face.
In Adams’ cookbook Healthy at Last, the former cop credits Tracey with overseeing “the largest school system in the United States,” a nod to her role in education leadership. He has publicly praised her dedication, once saying, “I’ve never met anyone more devoted to her job than Tracey.”

Adams Has a Son With His Former Partner
Before his relationship with Tracey Collins, Adams was in a long-term relationship with Chrisena Coleman, a former Daily News reporter who covered both entertainment and the Bronx courts. Though they never married, their relationship led to the birth of their son, Jordan Coleman.
Adams and Coleman split when Jordan was just two years old, but they’ve maintained an amicable relationship over the years. Despite not growing up in the same household, Jordan and Adams share a close bond, often keeping in touch through frequent texts.
“For my entire police career, none of my neighbors knew I had a son,” Adams once revealed. “I wanted to shield him from the reality of what I was doing. I became very private.”
Now, Jordan has made a name for himself. Based in New Jersey, the star kid has pursued a career in filmmaking while also excelling in academics. During his school years, Jordan was a standout athlete at Hackensack Middle School, playing basketball, baseball, and football.
Meanwhile, Chrisena moved on with her life, finding love again with Roosevelt Hall, her longtime fiancé. Raised in Hackensack, New Jersey, Coleman comes from a family with strong community ties—her father was a police detective, and her mother worked as a teacher’s aide.
